Rugby in Japan
I have been away from xanga for awhile - for that I apologize. I'm sure I have lost many readers, but I'm hoping there are still a few of you out there that believed I'd make a comeback. =) So here I am. I am now back in Tokyo - everything has been happening so fast. I don't even know if I should be here or not - life has been more stressful than I imagined, but I'm sure I can handle it. I made the choice to come back so I just have to deal with it.
Last night I had the opportunity to go watch a rugby game courtesy of my friend Ai's friend - Ai. =) She is dating one of the rugby players for the "Suntory" team from Tokyo. It was my first time ever watching a rugby game - I've never even seen it on tv! I have concluded that rugby is a mix of football, soccer, sumo, wrestling, & cheerleading. In some of these pics - you will see why.
:: before I went to meet Ai - I stopped by to get a cream puff - it was delicious! ::
:: Ai says this street is famous in Tokyo (for its trees) ::
:: I thought this was so funny - an area designated to SHAKE HANDS ::
:: Ai made the mistake of shaking hands with the other team! Whoops! ::
:: The cool thing about this Rugby game was - you could bring your own food inside ::
:: I didn't understand rugby in the beginning and I didn't understand it at the end - nevertheless it was fun to watch ::
:: like cheerleading ::
:: @ halftime (there was no show) but the mascot came out to throw t-shirts ::
:: like football ::
:: the guy in the pink is the ref (i love their outfits!) - poor guy got injured so the guy on the medical team was helping him ::
:: like sumo ::
:: in the end - they lost by 10 =( ::
:: all the players walked over to our side to wave and thank their fans - then they walked away with their heads hung low b/c they lost =( ::
:: Ai (her bf is the one that got us tickets - he is on the team - a pro rugby player!), Yukari, & Ai ::

You're back?!!
To work again?
WOW!
I hope everything is working out for you!
Rugby is popular in the eastern states in Australia. Personally I don't like it, maybe because I don't get it! Australian Rules footy is so much better!
I still read your xanga and good luck to you!
i have never been to a rugby game or seen one on tv either and that cream puff looks really good!
Looks like you had a great day! Sporting game events are sooo fun!!!
oooh fun!
Wow, there is a lot of useful data above!
